Built and run in the UK

DomainGuard is built by a UK IT security practitioner who deploys Intune and Group Policy for a living. It collects no browsing data, passwords or email content — only rule-match events for your audit log.

No traffic inspection

Unlike proxy-based solutions, DomainGuard enforces policy inside the browser. No SSL inspection, no performance impact, no compatibility issues with modern SaaS apps.

Privacy first

Already using Tenant Restrictions v2?

Good — keep it. TRv2 controls which Microsoft tenants your users can reach. DomainGuard covers the logins it doesn’t: non-Microsoft SaaS like Slack, Salesforce and Zoom, plus “Continue with Google / Apple” buttons — without a proxy or SSL inspection.

Traditional proxy approach
✗ All outbound traffic must be routed through the proxy and SSL-inspected — every web request, on every site
✗ SSL inspection causes compatibility issues with certificate pinning and modern SaaS applications
✗ Significant performance overhead — every request is decrypted, inspected and re-encrypted
✗ Decrypting all traffic adds privacy and exemption overhead — banking, health and pinned apps often need bypass lists
✗ Complex infrastructure to deploy and maintain — requires proxy configuration on every device
DomainGuard
Browser-native enforcement
✓ Policy enforced directly inside the browser — no network traffic is inspected or intercepted
✓ Zero SSL inspection — no certificate issues, fully compatible with all modern SaaS applications
✓ No performance impact on browsing — the extension only activates on login forms that match your rules
✓ Enforces at the login form itself — complements Entra TRv2 rather than replacing it
✓ Deploy in minutes via Intune or GPO — no proxy infrastructure required

Frequently asked questions

How does the extension get deployed to employee machines?+
DomainGuard is deployed silently using your existing MDM solution — Microsoft Intune or Group Policy (GPO). You generate an API token in the admin console, include it in your MDM configuration, and the extension installs automatically on all managed devices. Employees never see a prompt.
Does it work offline?+
Yes. The extension caches your policy rules locally. If a device temporarily loses internet access, the cached rules continue to be enforced. Policies sync automatically every 15 minutes when connectivity is restored.
Can I have different rules for different sites?+
Yes. You can create individual rules for any site — each rule has its own site pattern and list of approved email domains. For example, Slack might allow @company.com while Salesforce allows both @company.com and @subsidiary.com.
Does it affect browser performance?+
No. The extension uses Chrome's Manifest V3 which runs as a service worker — it only activates when a login form is detected on a page. It has no impact on general browsing speed or performance.
Is it compatible with Microsoft Edge?+
Yes — the same extension works on both Chrome and Edge since both support the WebExtensions API and Manifest V3. You can deploy to both browsers from a single admin console.
What data is collected and stored?+
DomainGuard logs rule match events (which site, which rule was triggered, and a hashed machine identifier) to your audit log. No personal browsing data, passwords, or email content is ever collected. All data is stored in your organisation's isolated database partition.
How is this different from proxy-based tenant restrictions?+
Proxy-based tenant restriction solutions work by routing all outbound traffic through a proxy that inspects and rewrites HTTP headers — meaning every web request must be SSL-decrypted and re-encrypted. This adds infrastructure and performance overhead, and can break certificate pinning on some SaaS apps. DomainGuard enforces policy directly inside the browser, so no network traffic is inspected at all. Only the login form interaction is affected — everything else browses normally with no overhead.
Do I still need DomainGuard if I use Entra Tenant Restrictions v2?+
They solve different parts of the problem. Tenant Restrictions v2 controls access to Microsoft tenants (Microsoft 365, Azure). DomainGuard enforces approved email domains on any SaaS login page you define — Slack, Salesforce, Atlassian, Zoom and more — and blocks social sign-in buttons on those sites. The two are designed to run together.
Does social login blocking end existing sessions?+
No. DomainGuard blocks new “Continue with Google / Apple” sign-ins on matched sites. Sessions a user already has open are not terminated — revoke those in the SaaS app’s own admin console if needed.
Can I cancel at any time?+
Yes. Cancel anytime from the billing portal — no lock-in, no cancellation fees. Your subscription continues until the end of the current billing period.
